The Verbeke Foundation is an art site in East Flanders composed of a 12-hectare sculpture garden and 20 000 m² covered spaces. Its collection mainly consists of collage works, bioart (art involving living organisms) and landscape interventions.
The website’s structure revolves around the large archive of works and exhibitions, which is almost entirely made available online. In the background, the previously visited page remains visible as a palimpsest, producing new overlaps and combinations with every click.
The typeface used for the headlines was designed by the Mass Moving art collective for their solar-powered printing press, Pioneer (1980), which is part of the museum’s collection. It has been used as the foundation’s logo since its beginnings.
